New Beginning: Part Deux

Starting in February of 2010, I started a mission to lose weight and get healthy. I accomplished this mission by losing 54 pounds, getting under 200 pounds (since the first time since high school) and feeling great. I really enjoyed fitting into clothes and being healthy. Then something changed in me and I didn’t maintain my new body and lifestyle. I didn’t completely let myself go as I stayed active, but I wasn’t as diligent about food as I was during my weight loss effort. I gained back about 15 pounds and was starting to get down on myself. I was really disappointed that I worked so hard to lose all that weight and then let it go. As I wrote in a previous post, I am determined to get back in the groove. I am going to start again…another new beginning.

The last few days have been great. I wake up everyday with a renewed vigor and renewed dedication to lose weight and get healthy. Its been a couple of months since I was in the right mindset to make every day count. From the moment I wake up in the morning, I have the mindset to make this a great day; exercise, eat right and drink water. Today is “Bike to Work Day” and I did just that. It feels great to exercise in the morning; starts the day off right. I’ve been very diligent about what I’m eating and it feels good to be back on track. BUT….I’m not naive. I know its only been a handful of days and its easy to get derailed.

I’m back to blogging as well. Writing down my thought, struggles and victories is, most certainly, a key to weight loss success. I’m excited at where my mindset is right now and excited to be the best I can be.

Hi Jon, what a milestone of loosing so much weight. I train so many clients online and I love when I hear great stories as yours. Working out is not always easy but losing weight from the house in my opinion is just the best and most effective way to ensure the weight is lost long term. The three issues in fitness is the lack of motivation, no consistency and just not convenient to your daily routine. I instruct my clients to focus on the activity rather than losing a bunch of pounds. Activity is better than no activity at all.. I wish you the best.
