P90X Legs and Back

This is my favorite phase 1 workout. I don’t like the back portion of this workout, due in large part to the fact that back is worked out twice a week. However, the leg workout is AWESOME! There are several routines in this workout that make you really feel the burn. When I feel the burn, I know I am making progress.

I really like the “speed skaters” routine. This is a real leg burner. You can’t be successful offering a bodyweight leg workout without having wall squats. This is a real leg shaker. The different calf workouts are aimed at killing your calf muscles. For a moment, right after these routines, you almost feel as if you can’t walk. And finally, there are several  permutations of lunges that top off the leg workout.

Not only is is workout routine effective, it is also fun! Most of the workouts are bodyweight, but you can add dumbbells for a deeper burn. This workout will get your legs in shape in no time!
