<description>Hey, I agree with some of what you said. Only, you are overlooking one important detail. As a martial artist myself, I know quite well the benefits of martial art training over time.

Think about it, it is your first week, you went through an extensive, intense working out sessions of p90x, you feel sore, you feel tired, your muscles aches, and the more you go, the more your legs are getting worked out, (plyo, then a day off, BAM YOGA, BAM LEGS, BAM KENPO&lt; WHUT!). Been quite a week already. What now?

Kenpo, as any other martial arts, helps build self confidence, self esteem as it is also a way to feel that you can also benefit from the self-defense part. That brings a sense of personnal security in itself. By that time, the pull ups, the constant arms training; it is nice to know the worst is over, by friday, you really love the fact that your biceps will rest so that you can be fully rested by next monday to do the pull ups and more pushups for the chest and back workouts.

And, teaches discipline too, and a sense of personnal achievement. The stretching part on sunday will and WILL, and WILL again help putting the soreness away, build a better chi flow and inner-JI (energy, lol, no punch intended, but since my name is Ji, I figured.), so that on monday&#039;s training, you may just as well SURPASS the heck out of yourself and in return create better results and personnal gains.

It helps cut back the calories from the cravings of food we all had lets say you were skinny, or just fat but in need of the good stuff still. Plus, it adds great definition lines making those &#039;whoa i didnt know i could get that&#039; muscle appear. And works all the fibers type, so that your next workouts can be way more explosive, energetic, efficient, and productive.

I could go on for ages on the matter for as far as my knowledge stretches out, but here I will stop, because I think I mentionned what was necessary.

One thing I know, from martial arts philosophy. Is that there is a time to move forward, a time to step back, a time to breathe, a time to exhale, a time to work, a time to rest. Working out is not about sustaining HUGE intensity; a heavy downpour of rain does not last the day, as wild winds do not blow all morning, if heaven can&#039;t sustain these, how much is a man able to do so? (From the tao te ching).

Keep it balanced, his program, I learned to love it. Why? Just that my friend, balance.

And you are right, IT IS fun fun fun. :D See you in PLYO session. :D
